Patient Rights

  • Right to seek medical care.
  • Right for selection of doctor for consultation & treatment.
  • Right to avail treatment & respectful care in a safe environment.
  • Right to be free from any form of physical, verbal abuse or harassment, neglect from the hospital authorities or staff members.
  • Right to know all relevant information regarding the name of the treating doctor, care plan, progress and information on their health care needs.
  • Right for continuity of care.
  • Rights to access to their own clinical records.
  • Right to consent or reject any treatment lines, research activities or clinical trial offered.
  • Right to informed consent before transfusion of blood and blood components, anesthesia, surgery, initiation of any research protocol and any other invasive/ high risk procedures/ treatment
  • Right to complain and information on how to voice a complaint.
  • Rights support individual beliefs, values and involve the patient and family in decision-making processes.
  • Right to be Respect for personal dignity and privacy during examination, procedures and treatment.

Patient and Family Responsibilities

  • Provide information regarding the patient’s illness or any changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Provide correct & truthful history.
  • Provide complete and accurate information (full name, address, other information). Be on time in case of appointments.
  • Cancel or reschedule as far in advance as possible in case of cancellation or rescheduling of appointments. Ask questions to your physician or other care providers when you do not understand any information or instructions. Not to give medication prescribed for him/ her to others.
  • Communicate with the healthcare provider if his/ her condition worsen or does not follow the expected course. Take care of the hospital property and its premises. Accept, where applicable, adaptation to the environment to ensure a safe & secure stay in hospital. Provide the surrogate decision maker if needed
